I agree 100%. I kept watching Zooey Daschenal and I kept wondering, what is she doing and what is she doing in this film. Wahlberg was totally out of character. The dialogue was lame. The little girl had maybe 1 line of dialogue - a waste. The scene showing the Three Mile Island-like nuclear plant behind the nursery was, again, a waste. Though at that point in the film, it did make me wonder. I left after the anticlimatic pregnacy scene and the double anticlimatic scene in France that ended this loss wondering why the plants attacked a small area of our country and waited 3 weeks or so before attacking again, on the other side of the world. Then exiting the theatre and driving along its tree-lined route, I concluded that it was more ludicrous and impossibe that plants should attack then it was for aliens to drop into my cornfield.

I loved "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly", but the movie I'd rather see is "My Stroke of Insight", which is the amazing bestselling book by Dr Jill Bolte Taylor. It is an incredible story and there's a happy ending. She was a 37 year old Harvard brain scientist who had a stroke in the left half of her brain. The story is about how she fully recovered, what she learned and experienced, and it teaches a lot about how to live a better life. Her TEDTalk at TED dot com is fantastic too. It's been spread online millions of times and you'll see why!

I agree almost 100% with you. I think Atonement will pull out the Best Picture, even though I wish Juno would win. Other than that, I think you've got them all right. And if "Falling Slowly" doesn't win Best Orignal Song I will be devastated!

Nice review, I pretty much agree with it.
Might as well say it here how awesome of a film critic you are -- you're probably my closest match for a critic that has similar tastes.

But the only flaw I can pick out of your reviews is that is you don't like a movie, than no need to directly insult it and say how horrible it is. Maybe try to say what kind of an audience would like it. (i.e. night at the museum -- c'mon, it's a great kids movie).
