While not even close to the funniest movie of the year, this ice skating comedy offers up some big laughs and loads of pure silliness. Will Ferrell and Jon Heder are male figure skaters that are forbidden to do solo competition due to a fight on the awards podium. Due to a loop hole, they find a way to skate again - as partners. I know that this plot is easily fixed by the two of them finding female partners, but then there would be no movie, and watching the two of them heterosexually skate in couples competition is hilarious. Ferrell and Arnett steal the show from Heder, but the performances are all over-the-top enough to be effective. The DVD touts a huge amount of special features and I have to admit that the HD-DVD version has been a blast to fool around with.
