The Story: Chuck and Larry are New York City firemen with very different lifestyles. Larry (James) is newly widowed with two young children and Chuck (Sandler) is a playboy that sleeps with seven hot women at a time. When Larry discovers that his children cannot collect his insurance if he dies, he convinces Chuck to pretend to marry him in order to re-designate the benefits.
The Good: Somewhere under here is a good film. I wish they could have found it. The idea isn't bad, just poorly conceptualized. A few of the jokes were a little funny.
The Bad: Once you get past the homophobic and almost hateful nature of the film, you start to realize just how bad it is. The premise is absolutely absurd and the decision making could only come from the minds of morons. And seriously, how many times can you make a joke about the fat man falling down before it becomes stale? The treatment of gays is straight out of the book of stereotypes and even the firemen are made to look like complete idiots. Each and every character is cookie cutter stupid and I couldn't wait to leave the theater.
The Summary: Sandler reaches a new low in this wannabe comedy farce.
this movie was absolutely hysterical. so many great actors and actresses. a few tired jokes here and there, but overall it has to be the funniset movie of the summer so far. holy crap, was evan almighty awful. adam sandler kills me and always will. that king of queens dude is funny to. I like him. I might just have to rent his tv show on DVD. ving rhames is too cute in this. yes, I just called ving rhames cute!
