Sweet Land - Young Farmers In Love

Sweet Land

Starring: Alan Cumming, Ned Beatty, and Elizabeth Reaser
Rated PG for brief partial nudity and mild language
Appropriate for all ages

When a young Minnesota farmer receives a mail-order bride from Germany in the 1920's, he finds himself in a difficult situation with his community.  This sweet little love story was one of my favorite films from last year.  Now I might be a bit biased since my great grandparents were also farmers from Minnesota, and putting a visual on the stories I grew up with meant a lot.  But even considering this, I cannot find fault with this wonderful tale and I love to recommend it to friends.  The making of documentary isn't that special, but there is a nice commentary that tells the labor of love that went behind this quiet yet charming little film.
